Last updated: June 18, 2026  ·  Effective: June 18, 2026

This Privacy Notice for AdvisorBrief ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we might collect, store, use, and share your information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you visit advisorbrief.ca or use any of our AI brief generation tools.

Questions or concerns? Reading this notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you still have questions or concerns, please contact us at info@advisorbrief.ca.

01

What Information Do We Collect?

Information You Provide to Us

We collect personal information you voluntarily provide when you use our Services. The personal information we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the choices you make.

Waitlist. If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. This is the only personal information we collect and retain on an ongoing basis.

Advisor profile (onboarding). When you use our brief generation tools, we ask you to configure an advisor profile. This includes: your professional role (e.g., Financial Advisor, Wealth Manager, Portfolio Manager, Private Banker, Associate Advisor, Investment Advisor), client segment type, assets under management (AUM) range, advisory approach or focus, currency preference, jurisdiction, and optionally your firm name. If you are not signed in, this profile stays in your browser only and is not transmitted to our servers. If you sign in, your profile is saved to your account so the tools remember your preferences between sessions; it is then associated with your account and stored in our database in the Canada (Central) region.

Account and sign-in. You may create an account by signing in with Google. When you do, we receive your email address and basic profile information from your sign-in provider to identify your account. We use this only to operate your account and to associate it with your saved advisor profile.

Cookies and Tracking

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, tracking pixels, advertising networks, or third-party web analytics tools. We keep anonymous, aggregate product counters (for example, how many briefs were generated in a day, or how many users said a brief was for a real upcoming meeting) so we can tell whether the product is working. These counters are totals only: they contain no identifiers, no IP addresses, and no brief content, and they cannot be linked back to you. When you sign in, we set a single strictly-necessary, http-only session cookie to keep you signed in; it is not used to track you. We also use your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as your theme. We do not collect your device's location, biometric data, social media identifiers, or any information from third-party platforms.

02

How Do We Process Your Information?

We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, to communicate with you, and to comply with law.

Waitlist email. We use your email address to contact you about early access, product updates, and the full launch of AdvisorBrief. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

Brief generation. When you submit information into one of our brief generation tools, that input is transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate a structured brief. The information is processed in real time and immediately discarded. We do not log, store, or retain brief inputs or outputs on our servers.

Legitimate interests. We may process your information where we believe it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests and those interests do not outweigh your interests and fundamental rights and freedoms. For example, we may analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to improve the quality of our tools.

03

Third-Party Client Data

AdvisorBrief is a professional tool used by financial advisors and other financial professionals. When using our brief generation tools, users may input personal and financial information about their own clients or prospects. This information is entered by the user, processed in real time through our AI provider, and immediately discarded.

AdvisorBrief does not store, retain, or use this third-party client data for any purpose other than generating the requested brief. Users are solely responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authorization to input third-party personal information into AdvisorBrief, including compliance with applicable privacy laws and any obligations to their clients.

The types of third-party information that may be entered include, but are not limited to: client names or identifiers, financial data (net worth, investable assets, portfolio value, income, liabilities), professional information (employer, role, industry), demographic information (age range, marital status, dependents, tax filing status), estate planning details, and investment history and preferences. None of this information is retained after the brief is generated.

04

When and with Whom Do We Share Your Information?

We may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertising networks, data brokers, or social media platforms.

05

Do We Use Artificial Intelligence?

Yes. AdvisorBrief uses AI-assisted features for its core brief generation functionality. We use Anthropic's Claude AI models to process the information you enter in our tools and generate structured advisory briefs.

AI Service Provider: Anthropic, Inc. (San Francisco, California, USA).

Purpose: Brief generation based on information you provide about yourself and about your clients or prospects.

Data handling: Input data sent to Anthropic is processed and then discarded. It is not retained by AdvisorBrief. Anthropic's data retention and usage practices are governed by their API usage policies. Anthropic does not use inputs submitted via the API to train their models.

We take reasonable steps to use AI responsibly and to be transparent about how AI-generated content is produced. The outputs generated by our tools are advisory in nature and do not constitute financial, legal, tax, or investment advice.

06

How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

Brief input data: Not retained. Brief inputs are processed in real time and immediately discarded after the output is generated. We do not store brief inputs or outputs on our servers.

Waitlist email addresses: Retained until you request removal. You may request deletion at any time by emailing info@advisorbrief.ca.

Advisor profile data: If you are not signed in, your profile stays in your browser only and is never sent to our servers. If you sign in, your profile is stored with your account until you delete it or ask us to close your account. To request removal, email info@advisorbrief.ca.

Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. When you close your account or request deletion, we remove your account and profile data.

Security and audit records: We keep a minimal log of key account events (such as sign-in, profile updates, and account deletion) for security, integrity, and fraud-prevention purposes. These records are not used for any other purpose, are never sold or shared for marketing, and a record of an account deletion is retained after the account is removed so we can demonstrate the deletion took place.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information.

07

How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. These include HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, strict Content Security Policy headers, and limiting the collection of personal data to what is necessary for our Services.

However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.

You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

08

Do We Collect Information from Minors?

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. AdvisorBrief is a professional tool designed for use by financial industry professionals. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@advisorbrief.ca.

Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. We do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online, because we do not engage in tracking.

Similarly, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by applicable law. Because we do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, the GPC signal does not require any change in our data practices.
